ACTING WORKSHOP

Let go, explore, and express different aspects of yourself during a six-week Acting workshop series.
Atlantic City Theatre Company is returning with their free acting classes every Wednesday, at Stockton University AC Campus (3711 Atlantic Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401), beginning July 8th-August 12th 2026 from 6pm-8pm. No matter your experience level, all are welcome. $20 suggested donation. Please sign up before hand, limited spots available!

THE ART OF DOING

"The Art of Doing" is a unique acting workshop that uses varied Meisner technique exercises, designed to disrupt the constant flow of limiting internal dialogue that hinders your ability to act honestly in the present moment. The technique intends to bring participants into a state of honest presence and fluidity, using different exercises, in which the individual participant has access to a level of self truth and spontaneity unattainable by thought alone. This state is beyond thought, and therefore, is achieved only when the individual is fully "doing" in the present moment. For that we have decided to call this workshop "The Art of Doing."
Developed and instructed by Jimmy Collins.
Now is your chance to try something outside of your comfort zone in a safe and welcoming space. 18+ is suggested age.
Don't think, act now!
Made possible by generous contributions of the ThriveAC Fund
A grant The Atlantic City Community Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of South Jersey.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Jimmy Collins has been a director and actor on the stage for the past 20 years. He studied Sanford Meisner technique with the great Kurt Whipple. There, he developed and crafted his own incredibly unique view on the technique. As an actor, he has starred in shows such as: The Pillow Man, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and to kill a Mockingbird. Jimmy is currently instructing the Atlantic City Theatre Company’s “The Art of Doing” workshop, an acting technique loosely based off of Meisner technique.
